The Elderly tend towards a philosophy of low risk and high security. The Young tend towards a philosophy of high risk and low security. The Elderly are able to live so long because they eventually discover the power behind stability and predictable structures of living. The results are a mentality of fearing change and closed-minded thinking. The Young traditionally throw caution to the wind, live fast, die young, and leave a good looking corpse. Surviving Youth is a Skill and an Achievement because of all of this, but both mentalities are extremes in their own right. The overall lesson to be learned is to balance Risk with Security, and keep your mind just open enough to consider new ideas while being critical and skeptical enough to notice when you are being played like a fiddle.
